Pink October 2026

Cards supports Pink October

For every Cards Platform plan purchased between October 1 and October 31, 2026, we donate €500 to Centre Léon Bérard. And we give our customers a prevention routine of 5 courses for their teams.

How can a company take action during Pink October?

Pink October is the annual campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and support research. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in France: it affects about 1 in 8 women during their lifetime. Detected early, it can be cured in 9 out of 10 cases. In the workplace, Pink October is an opportunity to share the official recommendations: a clinical exam by a healthcare professional every year from age 25, organized screening every 2 years between ages 50 and 74, and a prompt medical visit if you notice any unusual change. To make these messages last beyond October, organizations can use microlearning: short courses delivered at regular intervals. In 2026, Cards donates €500 to Centre Léon Bérard for every Platform plan purchased in October and gives its customers a routine of 5 prevention courses.

How to raise employee awareness during Pink October: 5 actions

A practical guide for HR directors, workplace well-being leads and L&D managers.

Action 1

Share the official recommendations

An annual clinical exam from age 25, organized screening between ages 50 and 74, and the signs that should prompt a medical visit. Always cite INCa or Santé publique France.

Action 2

Invite a healthcare professional

An occupational physician, a cancer center or a local association: an expert answers the questions teams don't dare to ask.

Action 3

Make the message last

A one-off webinar is quickly forgotten. Short, spaced reminders turn information into a reflex: that's the principle of the cognitive anchoring cycle.

Action 4

Talk about cancer at work

Staying in work, returning after treatment, the role of managers: prevention also means supporting the employees affected.

Action 5

Include everyone

Breast cancer also affects men, though more rarely. And every employee can pass the message on to a mother, a sister or a friend.

Screening: an appointment every 2 years

Formation · 2 minQuiz
Try a question

Organized screening is for women aged 50 to 74 with no symptoms or particular risk factors. An invitation arrives every 2 years, and the mammogram is 100% covered by French national health insurance (Assurance Maladie), with no upfront payment.

True or false: organized screening is offered every 2 years between ages 50 and 74.

TrueFalse

That's the recommended frequency. Before age 50, an annual clinical exam by a healthcare professional from age 25 is still advised.

Interval: 1 day

A first reminder the very next day, when forgetting happens fastest.

Know your breasts, spot the changes

Formation · 2 minQuiz
Try a question

A lump, a change in the skin or nipple, discharge, a change in shape: any unusual change is a reason to see a doctor, without waiting for the screening invitation.

True or false: if I notice a change, I wait for my next screening.

TrueFalse

You should see your doctor, gynecologist or midwife promptly. Most changes are not cancer, but only a professional can tell.

Interval: 2 days

The interval grows as the memory consolidates.

Risk factors you can act on

Formation · 2 minQuiz
Try a question

Age, family history, genetic predisposition: we don't choose these. Alcohol, physical inactivity, excess weight after menopause: these we can act on day to day.

True or false: there is nothing you can do to reduce your risk of breast cancer.

TrueFalse

Limiting alcohol, staying physically active and maintaining a stable weight are among the levers recognized by the French National Cancer Institute.

Interval: 4 days

More spacing, to check that the information holds over time.

4

Passing the message on to loved ones

Formation · 2 minQuiz
Try a question

Reminding a loved one about her screening invitation, offering to go with her, sharing a reliable source: caring support makes a difference.

True or false: breast cancer only affects women.

TrueFalse

Men can also be affected, though more rarely. And everyone, woman or man, can pass the message on to their loved ones.

Interval: 7 days

A full week before the most human course of all.

5

Supporting a colleague affected by cancer

Formation · 2 minQuiz
Try a question

Ask the person what they need, respect what they choose to share, and adapt the organization with HR and occupational health.

True or false: it's better not to bring it up, so as not to make a sick colleague uncomfortable.

TrueFalse

Silence can be isolating. It's better to simply ask how you can help, without insisting, and to respect their choices.
